Mayerthorpe residents are invited to the Diamond Centre this Wednesday for the second annual Peter and James Painting Canada Day Celebration, co-hosted by the town.
In the morning, activities begin with a free pancake breakfast from 9-11 a.m.
Families can also enjoy free swimming, bouncy castles, face painting, free cotton candy and a tattoo and selfie booth.
In the afternoon, the Mayerthorpe Fire Department will put on a sprinkler park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Paddle Valley Trail Riders will host a run at noon at the Ag Grounds and a show and shine runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In the evening, there will be a free barbecue dinner and a free indoor showing of the Super Mario Bros. Galaxy movie.
It all wraps up with fireworks at dusk, and residents are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.
