Update #2: June 22, 2 p.m.
County crews continue to assess the impacts of flooding across the region, and while inspection and mitigation efforts are underway, additional road closure needs have been identified.
New road closures include:
- 53523 Range Road 20
- Township Road 540 from Highway 43 to Range Road 20
- The intersection of Township Road 551 and Range Road 61
Roadway restrictions are also in place for 54515 Range Road 12, the Tuscany Hills subdivision, as multiple areas here have been affected. The road closures identified in the emergency alert issued on June 21 are also still in effect.
As conditions change, the county says additional signage or closures may be implemented.
In the meantime, officials still discourage all non-essential travel on county roads. Those who must travel should expect delays, detours and rapidly changing road conditions.
Haul permit suspensions and a 60 per cent axle weight reduction are also still in effect.
Moving forward, the county says public works crews are prioritizing assessments, emergency repairs and measures to protect critical infrastructure. Once water levels recede and roads can be safely inspected, repairs will be scheduled based on urgency and safety considerations.
