Parliamentary Secretary and Lac Ste. Anne—Parkland MLA Shane Getson is travelling to Germany to promote Alberta’s energy, technology and manufacturing strengths.
From June 19-27, Getson will meet with German officials, industry representatives and innovation leaders at the Clean Economy Bridge Conference 2026 in Berlin.
Throughout the conference, Getson is expected to identify synergies between Alberta’s and Germany’s economies, including opportunities for Alberta-made solutions to contribute to industrial innovation, smart manufacturing, clean technology and responsible energy adoption across Germany.
The Clean Economy Bridge Conference is an annual event that brings together partners and stakeholders from Canada, the United States and Germany to advance dialogue on priority clean economy topics and deepen transatlantic networks.
“Germany is looking for reliable partners, innovative technologies and practical solutions to strengthen its economy and energy security. Alberta has a strong story to tell in all three areas,” says Getson. “This mission is an opportunity to build relationships, showcase Alberta’s strengths and create new opportunities for investment, trade and collaboration.”
Following the conference, he will meet with government officials and private sector leaders to highlight Alberta’s strengths in oil and gas, carbon capture and emerging technologies, alongside Alberta’s potential as a hub for innovation and investment.
