The Grande Yellowhead Public School Division (GYPSD) has appointed Alan Stoyles as principal of Fulham Community School beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.
Stoyles attended the University of Alberta to earn a bachelor of arts in history and a bachelor of education in social studies, and is completing a master of education with a focus on educational leadership this summer.
Stoyles joined the division at Edson’s Parkland Composite High School in 2013, where he primarily taught humanities and career and technology studies.
The division says he then moved to Niton Central School in 2020, where he taught junior high school English and social studies, and created a career and technology foundation program. While at Niton, he was also a member of GYPSD’s Aspiring Leaders Program.
In 2024, Stoyles became principal of Wildwood School.
Now, he says he is excited to continue his leadership journey at Fulham by supporting the staff in developing the new agriculture program.
In his spare time, Stoyles enjoys kayaking on Chip Lake, boating on Lake Isle, working on his acreage and spending time with his wife, Natalie, and daughter, Sadie.
The division reports that current principal Rose Rumball has accepted a position with another school division, with her last day with GYPSD scheduled for June 30.
