The Government of Alberta has launched an Edson Flood Study, and the town is encouraging residents to provide their input.
The public engagement initiative allows residents to review and provide feedback on draft flood inundation maps, which are used for emergency planning, and draft flood hazard maps, which define floodway and fringe areas.
The town says the results will shape how the community prepares for and responds to flooding.
The study is available online until July 8 and is part of a broader provincial initiative encompassing 19 municipalities and three Indigenous communities.
