Peace River—Westlock MP Arnold Viersen recently joined the House of Commons in welcoming Canada’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes who competed in the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
More than 140 athletes were on Parliament Hill, including three-time Olympian Melissa Lotholz.
“From a family farm outside Barrhead to her third Olympics, Peace River—Westlock was cheering for Melissa Lotholz at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics,” said Viersen. “I had the chance to introduce my daughter and her friend to Melissa, and it is inspiring to see the next generation connect with athletes like Melissa who make Canada proud.”
Team Canada brought home 21 medals in the Olympics and 15 medals in the Paralympics.
