The Edson & District Healthcare Hero Awards were presented during town council’s regular meeting last week in honour of Rural Healthcare Week this week, May 25-29, 2026.
The awards are presented to recognize outstanding contributions from local medical professionals.
Launched by the Community Care Foundation Attraction and Retention Committee last year, town officials note, the awards received 37 nominations and celebrated individuals across five categories.
This year’s recipients were:
• Healthcare Aid – Jasmine Gauchier
• Registered Nurse – Karen Mayner
• Physician – Dr. Frans Kruger
• Other Professionals – Allison Roth
• At Large – Edson LEAP Society, Anna Vander Hague & Michelle Campbell
