Town of Barrhead residents may notice smoke Tuesday night as Barrhead Regional Fire Services performs a controlled burn.
The burn is scheduled for 7:30-10 p.m. and will take place along Highway 33 across from Rotary Park Campground, weather permitting.
Town officials say the operation is designed to reduce roadside debris and lower wildfire risk in the community while providing real-time training for volunteer firefighters.
Residents may notice smoke and flames during this time, but the town assures residents that fire crews will be on site throughout the evening to ensure the burn is carried out safely and effectively.
