The Town of Whitecourt celebrated its 2026 Volunteer Award winners with a luncheon on Monday, April 20.
Nominations were received for five award categories. The winners were:
- Longstanding Achievement: Holly Astill
- Community Leader: Lee Anne Stark
- Corporate Leader: Mike and Rebecca’s No Frills
- Extra Miler: Kristina McAuley
- Outstanding Youth Volunteer: Sara Sadoway
Running April 19-25, National Volunteer Week is a time to recognize the time and energy volunteers contribute to the community. This year’s theme is “Ignite Volunteerism,” a year-long initiative encouraging Canadians to reconnect with their communities through acts of service, civic action and mutual support.
