The Whitecourt Wolverines started making a playoff comeback Tuesday night with a 3-2 win over the Canmore Eagles.
Brendan Ruskowski opened the scoring for Whitecourt with a powerplay goal at 5:57 for a 1-0 lead. Kyle Tucker and Jalen Bianchet assisted.
Canmore tied it up 1-1 in period two, then netted another for 2-1 lead at 12:42 in the third frame.
Wolverine Ruskowski scored again at 17:07 , his 11th of the playoffs to tie it up 2-2. He was assisted by Xander Schulte, who went on to assist on the game-winning goal with 10 seconds left on the clock. Spencer Claerhout scored the game winner, his first of the post season.
The Wolverines are down 2-1 in their best of seven-game series against the Eagles.
Game four is at 7 p.m. Wednesday night at the Canmore Recreation Centre.
