Barrhead County’s Open Skies Exposition and Awards gets underway early next month.
On Saturday, April 11, attendees can head to the Rural Living Expo to discover the various services, businesses and opportunities featured in the county.
Whether you’re a young family dreaming of the country life, a retiree looking to the next chapter or a resident wondering what’s new, the county says there’s something for everyone.
Running 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bablitz Hall, the expo will feature many exhibitors and service providers, such as the Barrhead Agricultural Society, Northwest of 16 Tourism Association, the Gateway Research Organization and more.
Free presentations will also be on offer at the expo, including:
- Soil Testing at Home: 10:30 a.m.
- Fish and Game Trophy Awards: 1:30 p.m.
Afterwards, an appreciation and awards dinner runs from 6-8 p.m.
The following awards will be presented:
- Farm Spotlight: Borealis Acres
- Rural Beautification Awards: Multiple recipients
- Farm Family Award: Van Loon Family
- Honour Roll Recipient: Calvin and Robin Young
Tickets for the awards ceremony are $35 and can be purchased online until April 2. The event includes a catered dinner, followed by award presentations and guest speakers.
