A petition to recall Athabasca-Barrhead-Westlock MLA Glenn Van Dijken has failed after being deemed ineligible.
On March 2, Elections Alberta announced that the petition was not received from the applicant by the end of the 90-day canvassing period. It was due on Feb. 23, but was not submitted until the following day, invalidating the results.
The petition organizer, Aaron Conner, would have needed to collect 12,719 signatures to be successful.
It joins 12 other recall petitions, which have either failed or been deemed ineligible for late submissions.
