The Yellowhead County Fire Department (YCFD) is holding a series of Wildfire Preparedness Community Open Houses over the next few weeks, including one in Evansburg Feb. 17, 2026.
The series provides an opportunity for residents to speak with FireSmarting experts, and access resources for increasing their property and community’s resiliency to wildfires.
The events run drop-in style from 4-7 p.m. at the following dates and locations:
- Feb. 17: Evansburg Fire Station
- Feb. 19: Fulham Hall
- March 3: Robb Hall
- March 5: Overlander Lodge
“These open houses are a great way for people to get out and speak directly with experts in wildfire preparedness,” said YCFD Fire Chief Albert Bahri. “Everyone can contribute to building a prepared and resilient community, and we’d be happy to show you how.”
Attendees can also enter giveaways for a home sprinkler kit or a portable fire pit.
These events are offered through a partnership with Alberta Forestry and Parks and FireSmart Alberta.
