A new accessible bus has been added to Moving Edson’s fleet.
The vehicle purchase was supported by $298,360 in town funding.
Town officials say it is already fully in service, helping residents through the Edson Seniors Transportation Society (ESTS).
ESTS helps residents attend medical appointments, pick up groceries and prescriptions, and stay socially connected.
“In a rural community like ours, transportation can be a real barrier,” says Edson Mayor Kevin Zahara. “This new bus helps address those challenges by ensuring seniors and individuals with disabilities have dependable access to essential services. The Town of Edson is proud to support ESTS as they continue providing this invaluable service.”
In addition to providing day-to-day transportation services, ESTS also facilitated wildfire evacuations in Yellowhead County and Edson in 2023.
