Alberta is experiencing unseasonable warmth this week, with multiple communities across the province setting temperature records.
On Tuesday, Jan. 13, the Edson area reached 10.4 C, beating the 2004 record of 8.8 C.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says records in the area date back to 1916.
The Stony Plain area hit 9.2 C, higher than the 6.4 C record set in 2004.
The Grande Prairie area got up to 7.6 C, the warmest Jan. 13 since 1933, which reached 6.7 C.
Records for Stony Plain and Grande Prairie date back to 1966 and 1922, respectively.
