The Town of Edson is seeking public feedback as it begins to update its Municipal Development Plan (MDP).
The MDP was last updated in 2016, and officials say changes would address issues and trends that have emerged since, and ensure the document aligns with the Municipal Government Act.
An MDP is a policy document that provides long-term guidance on future growth and development within a municipality. It also guides other documents, like the Land Use Bylaw and Structure or Redevelopment plans.
To inform this work, a survey will soon be available where residents can share what they love about Edson and what they imagine for its future. It will be available online from Jan. 12 to Feb. 6.
An activity sheet will also be available for youth under 17 to fill out. Those who complete one will be entered to win a 10-visit family pass to the Edson and District Leisure Centre.
Additionally, the town is hosting an open house on Jan. 29 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Galloway Station Museum. The event is family friendly.
More information will become available on the town’s engagement page.
