Two Edson residents have been arrested and charged with aggravated assault following an alleged attack last Thursday.
On Dec. 11, Edson RCMP responded to a report of a man bleeding from his head on 56 Street. When police arrived at the scene, they found a 37-year-old male with injuries to his head and hand.
He was transported to hospital in Edmonton.
Police say their investigation suggested the victim had been hit with an axe at Sunset Trailer Park, and that two suspects had allegedly fled the scene and were staying at a local hotel.
RCMP members attended the hotel to arrest the two suspects, who police believe were known to the victim. Officers believe this incident was related to a previous incident involving these individuals and that there is no risk to the general public at this time.
As a result of the investigation, 40-year-old Katlynne Nehemiah Stiles and 35-year-old Tina Nicole Robocon, both Edson residents, were charged with:
- Aggravated assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault causing bodily harm
Both accused were brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody, to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Edson on Dec. 16, 2025.
