The Whitecourt Wolverines routed the Bonnyville Pontiacs 5-1 at home on Saturday, Dec. 6.

About nine minutes later, Whitecourt’s Quentin Bourne netted one of his own with help from Mason Russell and Ty Rayan, bumping the team to a 2-0 lead.
It was a tight second frame until 14:04, when Jalen Bianchet and Ethan Short assisted Wolverine Kyle Tucker in securing the team’s third goal of the night.
Bianchet scored again just 2:15 into period three, bringing it to 4-0, and Kyle Tucker got the helper.
With support from Bourne and Bianchet, Whitecourt’s Cole Barrett secured his eighth goal of the season at 8:31, securing the team’s five-point lead.
The Pontiacs netted one goal with 3:18 left in the game for the final 5-1 score.
