A mobile mammography trailer is coming to Edson in early December.
The test program provides screening mammograms to eligible individuals ages 45-74.
Screenings are offered at no cost, but an appointment is required. You can book one or learn more by calling 1-800-667-0604.
The trailer will be at the Edson Healthcare Centre (3837 6 Avenue) Dec. 1-6 and Dec. 8-9.
Mammograms X-ray the breast to identify signs of cancer, as treatment can be more effective the earlier the condition is detected. More information about breast cancer screening and who is eligible is available here.
In addition to mobile mammography clinics, screening can be completed at specific radiology clinics and some hospitals. More information on screening locations is available online.
