In his role as minister of forestry and parks, Central Peace—Notley MLA Todd Loewen is in Japan and South Korea this week to promote Alberta’s forestry industry overseas.
From Nov. 9-14, Loewen is expected to showcase Alberta’s wood products and its commitment to expanding markets for forest products.
He will attend site visits, industry forums and networking events in an effort to demonstrate the province’s reliability as a supplier, and strengthen its relationship with regional customers.
“Alberta has a strong trade relationship with Japan and South Korea, which we would like to grow,” he comments. “This government is proud to advocate for fair and open access to markets for the forestry sector. I look forward to strengthening relationships and standing up for Albertans.”
The mission will be held in partnership with the Alberta Forest Products Association, Canada Wood Group, the Wood Pellet Association of Canada, the Government of British Columbia and British Columbia’s Forestry Innovation Investment.
