A Whitecourt RCMP member was recently honoured with various awards for his years of service.
Staff Sergeant Matthew Clarke was among 44 Alberta RCMP employees awarded Long Service Awards, Commanding Officer Commendations and Certificates of Appreciation, Special Service Awards, and one Chaplain of the Year Award on Oct. 22, in Devon.
Clarke was presented with the RCMP 20 Year Long Service Award and the Alberta Police 20 Year Long Service Award.
RCMP officials say the awards recognize his “exceptional dedication” and “unwavering commitment” to the communities he has served. All RCMP members were also celebrated for their achievements in leadership, cultural change, volunteerism and community engagement, both within the RCMP and the communities they serve.
