The Town of Whitecourt is reporting a cougar sighting in the Centennial Park area.
Officials say wildlife sightings are not uncommon in the area, as the community is surrounded by forests.
Regardless, residents are advised to use caution when using the trail system or forested areas.
If you see a cougar within the community, report it to Alberta Fish and Wildlife at 1-800-642-3800.
This advisory was issued around noon on Oct. 27.
