The County of Barrhead has released the official results of its municipal election, which took place on Oct. 20.
Barrhead County’s next council will consist of the following councillors:
Division 1: Erik Munck (208 votes)
Division 2: Ray Crisler (173 votes)
Division 3: Bill Chapman (107 votes)
Division 4: Lorrie Jespersen (227 votes)
Division 5: Chais Ellwein (132 votes)
Division 6: Walter Preugschas (103 votes)
Division 7: Tyson Bergsma (182 votes)
Walter Preugschas was the only incumbent candidate reelected for another term.
Election results were confirmed at noon on Friday, Oct. 24.
The county’s new municipal government has its first organizational meeting on Oct. 28, where the roles of reeve and deputy reeve will be appointed, along with various board and committee positions.
