An Edson resident has been charged with arson following an investigation into a structure fire that occurred last week.
Early on Oct. 9, 2025, Edson RCMP responded to a structure fire in town, where a local storage business was found engulfed in flames.
Officers deemed the fire suspicious and, using surveillance camera footage, were able to identify and arrest a suspect who was allegedly present when the fire was set.
As a result, 49-year-old Ricky Allen Peet, an Edson resident, has been charged with arson.
He was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. Peet is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Edson on Oct. 21, 2025.
