The Whitecourt RCMP is seeking community volunteers to join the Whitecourt Citizens on Patrol (COP) group.
The group acts as extra eyes and ears for the Whitecourt RCMP, with the intention of building a safer community by encouraging citizens to participate in crime prevention in cooperation with local law enforcement.
COP members must be a minimum of 18-years-old; reside in, or have a business in Whitecourt; complete a criminal record and driving record check; and commit to one shift per month.
To learn more or sign up, head to the Forest Interpretive Centre at 6 p.m. on Oct. 15 for an introductory meeting. You can also contact Kristen McLeod, the crime prevention liaison, at kristen.mcleod@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
