The MLA for Central Peace—Notley and Alberta’s minister of forestry and parks is travelling to Abu Dhabi to promote Alberta’s conservation efforts at the World Conservation Congress 2025.
Todd Loewen will engage in global discussions on biodiversity and nature-based solutions and meet with international partners to gain insight into emerging trends and practices that shape natural resource strategies and land management.
The event is hosted by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), bringing together conservation professionals, government agencies, Indigenous leaders, scientists, youth and NGOs to advance biodiversity policy and practice.
“Our province is a leader on the world stage when it comes to wildlife conservation and land management,” Loewen said. “This conference offers us the opportunity to share our success stories, learn from others and form partnerships that will help strengthen Alberta.”
Loewen will be joined by two government employees, and mission expenses will be posted online.
