Lac Ste. Anne-Parkland MLA Shane Getson is travelling to Lubbock, Texas to promote Alberta’s efforts to expand economic corridors.
He will be attending the Ports-to-Plains Alliance 2025 Annual Conference in his role as parliamentary secretary for economic corridor development.
Getson will speak on the importance of growing barrier-free trade between Alberta and the U.S., as well as opportunities to streamline corridors and improve north-south connectivity via the Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor.
“Alberta is committed to strengthening partnership with the United States by advancing trade, resilient supply chains and shared economic growth,” Getson said. “Through efforts like the Ports-to-Plains Alliance, we’re working with U.S. leaders to unlock new opportunities for job creators on both sides of the border.”
The government says the annual conference focuses on enhancing economic security and trade opportunities across the region through collaborative work that would improve essential transportation and infrastructure networks.
It’s a gathering of policymakers, industry leaders and businesses from nine U.S. states, including Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Nebraska and Wyoming.
Mission expenses will be shared online.
