Nominations for the upcoming municipal election closed at noon on Monday, Sept. 22, and Woodlands County released its official list of candidates on Tuesday.
There are seven divisions within the county, three of which only had one registered candidate after Monday’s deadline. As a result, councillors have been acclaimed in the following divisions:
- Division One, Anselmo: Dave Kusch
- Division Three, Whitecourt Central: Alan Deane
- Division Six, Goose Lake/Freeman River: Peter Kuelken
Candidates competing for the final four positions include:
- Division Two, Whitecourt West
- John Michael Burrows
- Patricia Ray MacNeil
- Division Four, Whitecourt East
- Karen St. Martin
- Andrew Burgoyne
- Deb Edney
- Jeremy James Sergeew
- Division Five, Blue Ridge
- Jenna Wright
- Chris Exley
- Robert William Haydock
- Division Seven, Fort Assiniboine/Timeu
- Benny Whitten
- Dale Kluin
