The Town of Whitecourt would like to remind those interested in running in the upcoming municipal election that the nomination deadline is coming up.
Candidate nominations will be accepted until noon on Sept. 22, known as Nomination Day. Nominations needed to be submitted to the Whitecourt Town Office before this point.
To be eligible to run as a candidate, residents must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Be a resident of Whitecourt on Election Day
- Be a resident of the Town of Whitecourt for the six consecutive months preceding Nomination Day
Potential candidates will also need to secure signatures of support from at least five residents eligible to vote in the upcoming election.
