With kids back in school for another year, the Town of Barrhead would like to remind drivers to follow the school zone speed limits mandated in town.
A reduced speed of 30 km/hr is mandatory on roadways in school zones during the following times, Monday to Friday:
- 8-9:30 a.m.
- 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- 3-4:30 p.m.
Other tips for making the community safer include:
- Slow down and follow speed limits
- Pay extra attention at crosswalks – being mindful of pedestrians.
- Point or push, pause, and proceed when crossing
- Stay alert
The town says all residents have a responsibility to protect one another and help ensure children and families have a safe school year.
