Pack your teddy bears, because Edson’s Teddy Bear Picnic is back on the schedule for tomorrow, August 21.
The event was supposed to take place two weeks ago but was postponed due to rain. Instead, the fifth annual event is taking place from 2-7 p.m. at Centennial Park this Thursday.
Sarah McDonald, community development supervisor, explained the event is a resource fair that brings together the early childhood agencies in the area, serving families with children from zero- to six-years-old.
There are 17 agencies registered this year, which McDonald said may be the event’s biggest showing yet.
Attendees can enjoy a free barbecue, bounce houses, various kids’ games, face painting and balloon artists. There will also be a DJ to “bring the music and bring the fun,” McDonald commented.
You can also grab a passport from the Edson Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) booth that will lead you to different agencies’ booths to try even more activities, arts and crafts.
McDonald added, “you don’t have to bring a penny with you,” because everything is free to enjoy.
Don’t forget to bring your teddy bear along! But if you do, there will be some extras available from the town.
