If you’re looking for an activity to keep you busy this weekend, look no further than Whitecourt’s Summer Street Fest 2025, taking place August 9.
From noon to 5 p.m., head to downtown Whitecourt to take in roving performers, pop-up shops, a farmers’ market and much more.
You can also try to win a prize in the sidewalk art challenge, or participate in the cornhole tournament if you’re not the artistic type.
A craft workshop, face painting and glitter tattoos should also help keep the kids entertained.
For food, attendees can enjoy Fro on the Go, Gypsy Gin and a Thai food truck.
Throughout the day, local bands will be playing live music on the following schedule:
- 12:15 p.m.: Wanda’s Dream
- 1:00 p.m.: Travina Robinson
- 1:45 p.m.: Zander Ness
- 2:30 p.m.: Sweet Disasters
- 3:45 p.m.: Analog Smokeshow
Multiple downtown businesses with also have specials running during the event.
To accommodate the event, street closures will be in effect. The following will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.:
- 50 Street from 52 Avenue to the alley entrance south of 51 Avenue
- 51 Avenue from 49 Street to the alley entrance west of 50 Street
The town says barricades and signage will be posted and asks all motorists to find alternate routes.
