Barrhead’s Blue Heron Fair is back this weekend with rodeo events, family fun, slo-pitch games and more.
You can head to the Barrhead Agricultural Society August 9 and 10 to take it all in.
At 10 a.m. on Saturday, you can check out the Blue Heron Parade. This year’s theme is “On the Move,” a showcase of how humans got around in the past, the present, and how they might in the future.

There will also be a horse show on Saturday morning, with several different competitive categories, including showmanship, western horsemanship and pleasure, and more.
Sunday adds a Country Market to the fun, as well as an evening cabaret show by Martina Dawn. Doors open at 9 a.m. and an additional ticket purchase is required to attend.
The Blue Heron Rodeo will also take place over the weekend, drawing hundreds of cowboys to the area to compete.
For those with children, there will be bouncy castles, face painting and balloon artists on site throughout the weekend, plus human-powered carnival rides, a new attraction. Attendees will also notice a mechanical bull, which organizers say older kids can try for free.
Events run from 8 a.m. on Saturday to 5 p.m. on Sunday, and you can find the full list of activities and a link to purchase tickets here.
