A wildfire is burning west of Mercoal, in the Edson Forest area in Yellowhead County, and residents of the area should prepare for evacuation.
According to Alberta Wildfires, as of 9:37 p.m. yesterday, fire EWF030 had reached 393 hectares and was classified as out of control.
The fire is located 6 km west of Mercoal and 16 km southwest of Robb.
Yellowhead County officials say residents in the area may notice smoke settling in the communities near the fire due to increased humidity.
