A member of the Whitecourt RCMP detachment has been awarded the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal, joining 135 Alberta RCMP employees recognized for their outstanding contributions during a ceremony in Devon, Alta., on April 16, 2025.
Const. Jessica Brown was honoured with the commemorative medal, which was created to mark the coronation of King Charles III and awarded to 30,000 Canadians who have made significant impacts in their communities, provinces, or the country at large.
Officials say Brown was recognized for her exceptional service to Whitecourt and surrounding areas, where she has consistently demonstrated leadership, professionalism, and a deep commitment to community safety.
In addition to her policing duties, Brown is actively involved in local initiatives, including community coaching and volunteering with the Whitecourt Fire Department. Her work in schools and public events has been praised for fostering strong relationships between law enforcement and the community.
“Const. Brown embodies the values and dedication we strive for in the RCMP,” said a spokesperson from the Whitecourt detachment. “Her leadership and service have left a lasting impact on Whitecourt, and this medal is a well-deserved recognition of her efforts.”
The King Charles III Coronation Medal honours individuals across Canada whose achievements reflect positively on the nation, both domestically and internationally.
