With dry and windy conditions in the forecast, officials with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) have issued a Fire Advisory for the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area.
Under this advisory, existing permits are still valid, however, extensions will not be granted and new permits will be granted on a case-by-case basis only moving forward.
While backyard firepits and campfires are still permitted, residents are reminded to exercise extreme caution while burning.
Officials say this advisory will remain in place until conditions improve or further escalation is required.
