Officials with Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a Snowfall Warning for Woodlands County and Yellowhead County, including the Town of Whitecourt and the Town of Edson, just before 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 21.
Officials are predicting as much as 10-20 cm of snowfall throughout the day on Monday, mostly concentrated in higher terrain west of Highway 2.
Due to the convective nature of this weather system, officials say conditions may be highly variable throughout the region, including sudden changes to visibility.
Drivers are being told to slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
This Snowfall Warning is expected to remain in place until Tuesday morning.
