With increasing temperatures, wind, and dry conditions, officials with Lac Ste. Anne County say they will NOT be authorizing any new fire permits for large burns until further notice.
County officials say smaller burns may be considered with prior approval. Residents are encouraged to contact your Fire Guardian for details.
Currently, issued fire permits for allowed burning and any burn barrels, campfires, wood-fired appliances, and approved fire pits will be allowed at this time; however, residents are reminded to please use with extreme caution with more frequent monitoring and enhanced extinguishing methods.
The county says existing fire permits will not be granted extensions while the Fire Advisory is in effect, and no new lighting of piles is allowed without prior approval.
Fireworks during a Fire Advisory or Fire Ban are prohibited.
Residents are asked to please report any wildfire to 9-1-1 with exact location to assist Lac Ste. Anne County Fire Personnel in promptly locating and extinguishing these fires. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
