Officials with the Town of Edson have provided an update on construction progress of the new YCE Multiplex.
Crews say they are ready to begin construction on Monday, April 7, starting with on-site preparation and foundation work which includes clearing the area, grading the land and preparing the foundation.
Officials say an official groundbreaking ceremony is being scheduled for later in the spring.
Residents are reminded that the Edson and District Leisure Centre will remain open during this construction. Staff with the leisure centre say the north parking lot will be closed during this time but the main entrance will remain open through the first phase of construction.
Officials are informing residents who live in the area that they may notice an increase in construction-related noise.
Officials apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank residents for their patience.
