Whitecourt town council will be providing a letter of support to Woodlands County regarding its grant application for funding to update the Whitecourt Airport (CYZU).
Council received a letter from Woodlands County Reeve, Dave Kusch in December, requesting support of their grant application under the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program for pavement and electrical rehabilitation work.
In the letter, Reeve Kusch notes that CYZU is used by Alberta Health Services, STARS Air Ambulance and is home to one of seven tanker bases for Alberta Wildfire, who are the primary and heaviest users of the runway.
Council unanimously supported the motion to provide a letter of support to Woodlands County.
