The Town of Whitecourt is advising that a fire is burning at the Whitecourt Regional Landfill.
Fire departments are on site.
For safety reasons, officials say the landfill will be closed to the public.
Garbage collection is currently proceeding as scheduled in the West Valley. Additionally, town officials say the transfer station is open per holiday operating hours.
