Barrhead County council approved several operating budgets at their regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
- An operating budget of $807,082.00 was approved for the Barrhead and District Family and Community Support Service Society, including contributions of $77,149.00 from both the Town of Barrhead council and the Barrhead County council.
- The Barrhead Johnson Airport Operating budget of $61,145.00 was approved, including contributions of $24,875.00 from each municipality.
- $8,700.00 was approved for the 2025 Barrhead and District Twinning Committee Budget, made up of contributions of $4,350 from both municipalities.
- The operating budget of $339,520.00 was approved for the Barrhead Regional Land Fill for 2025 which includes contributions of $96,260 from each municipality. The 2025 Capital Budget of $75,000.00 was also approved, including contributions of $37,000.00 from each municipality.
Council approved several recommendations for the Barrhead Regional Fire Service (BRFS) committee as well, including:
- A $976,290.00 Operating Budget for the BRFS, including an estimated contribution from the County of more than $534,420.00.
- An $850,000.00 Capital Budget for the BRFS, including a contribution of $425,000.00 from each municipality.
- A $57,400.00 Operating Budget for the Emergency Response Centre (ERC), including a contribution of $28,700.00 from each municipality.
- An $11,900.00 Capital Budget for the ERC, including contributions of $3,450.00 from each municipality.
- A three-year Financial Plan for the BRFS for incorporation into the County’s three-year Financial Plan.
- A 10-year Capital Plan for the BRFS for incorporation into the County’s 10-year Capital Plan.
- A three-year Financial Plan for the ERC for incorporation into the County’s three-year Financial Plan.
- A 10-year Capital Plan for the ERC for incorporation into the County’s 10-year Capital Plan.
Council also directed administration to look into options for either bringing back or disposing of Fire Engine 33, which the county currently owns.
