Whitecourt Wolverines goaltender Zac Onyskiw has been named the Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, Oct. 15.
In the previous week, Zac dominated the competition with a 6-3 win over the Devon Xtreme on Oct. 9 and a 3-0 shutout victory over the Drayton Valley Thunder on Oct. 11, for a .947 save percentage and only 1.50 GAA for that week.
Elsewhere, the Grande Prairie Storm winning three games between Oct. 7 and 13, led to forward Tomis Marinkovic being selected as the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week with six points, and forward Chayse Laurie named the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week.
