Due to the upcoming Labour Day long weekend, many Town-run facilities in municipalities in the area will be closed or have alternate hours of operation on Monday, Sept. 3.
Whitecourt
The following facilities will be closed on Monday
- Town Office
- Whitecourt Transfer Station
- Whitecourt Regional Landfill
- Whitecourt Food Bank
Officials note that Whitecourt Public Transit and Dial-A-Bus will also be out of service.
The following facilities will have alternate hours of operation on Monday
- The Allan and Jean Millar Centre – Open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- The Pembina Gas Aquatic Centre – Open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Barrhead
The following facilities will be closed on Monday:
- The Town Office
- The Agrena
- The Regional Landfill
- The Barrhead Regional Aquatics Centre is closed until Sept. 15 as part of its annual shutdown.

Edson
The following facilities will be closed on Monday.
- The Civic Centre.
- The Protective Services Building. (Emergency response will remain available.)
- Griffiths Park Centre.
- The Public Works Building.
- The Edson Landfill.
- The Edson and District Leisure Centre:
- Pool – Closed
- Family Shinny – 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Family Skate – 2:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Town officials also note there will be no changes to waste collection on Monday.

The following facilities will be closed on Monday:
- The County Office building
