Acting Barrhead RCMP detachment commander Corporal Filipe Vicente says fleeing from authorities is never a good decision.
“Failing to stop for a police officer or a peace officer, it’s the same thing, it is a criminal offence, which can lead to serious consequences if criminal charges are pursued,” said Corporal Vicente. “People panic and bad decisions are made, things can easily go from a simple warning or traffic ticket to becoming a criminal matter.”
County of Barrhead CAO Debbie Oyarzun commended the cooperation between the Barrhead RCMP and County of Barrhead Peace Officers.
“This is a great example of the strong working relationship between the Barrhead RCMP and our County Peace Officer,” says Oyarzun. “We encourage everyone utilizing an off-highway vehicle in the County of Barrhead to do so responsibly and follow the rules of the road.”
