Officials with Woodlands County are now accepting applications for the Benefits Program which is available for county residents who fit one of the following criteria:
- Seniors 65 years of age or older
- Have mental or physical disabilities
- Have low-income.
The Benefits Program was established in July of 2023 and was designed to provide meaningful assistance to all county residents. Officials say the Transportation grant is now included in the Benefits Program, meaning eligible applicants can apply for up to $300.00 per year to be reimbursed for healthcare-related travel millage.
Officials note that low-income residents applying for this program must provide a copy of their Tax Notice of Assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency for the current year and have an income below the following amounts:
- 1 person – $30,000
- 2 persons – $40,000
- 3 persons – $42,500
- Per dependent after – $2,500
