According to officials with the Town of Edson, starting Wednesday, May 1, crews with GS Construction will be working on installing a sewer bypass in the area of 53 Street, between 4 and 6 Avenue.
Crews say the bypass will remain in place for approximately six weeks, during which time the following traffic impacts can be expected:
- Northbound traffic on 53 Street, between 4 Avenue and 6 Avenue, straight through will not be impacted. Left turns onto 5 Avenue will not be permitted.
- Southbound traffic on 53 Street between 6 Avenue and 5 Avenue will encounter a complete closure. Town officials say access will be permitted for residents of the apartment buildings and townhomes in the area.
- Westbound traffic on 5 Avenue, between 52 Street and 53 Street, will be restricted to right turns only.
- Eastbound traffic on 5 Avenue, between 53 Street and 54 Street, will be straight-through traffic; right turns will not be impacted and left turns will not be permitted.
Town officials apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate cooperation from residents during this time.
