According to officials with Barrhead Regional Fire Department, the Fire Chief has implemented a total fire ban in the County of Barrhead, effective as of 4:30 p.m., on April 22.
Officials say under this ban:
- All campfires, including all fires in a fire pit, backcountry, or open land are now prohibited.
- All fire permits are suspended, including burn barrels & incinerators, and no new permits will be issued.
- Fireworks, torches, and exploding targets are prohibited.
- Charcoal briquette barbeques are prohibited.
For greater clarity, officials note that this order does not apply to fire pits or barbecues that run on propane or natural gas.
