Greenview Fire-Rescue Services (GFRS) says it has received a $15,000.00 donation from Keyera Corp. to assist with the purchase of wildland personnel protection equipment.
Keyera Corp says that through their social investment program, Keyera Connects, they partner with organizations and support causes that build resiliency in the communities they are a part of. Officials say this donation was made to recognize Greenview Fire-Rescue Services for their dedication and commitment during the 2023 Alberta wildfires and for working to safeguard Keyera facilities and employees. Keyera Corp says it hopes this donation will assist with the purchase of crucial equipment.
“We extend our gratitude to Keyera Corp. for their generous donation as a token of support in the aftermath of the devastating wildfire season. Your commitment to the safety of GFRS members and the community is truly commendable,” stated Reeve Tyler Olsen.
Regional Fire Chief Wayne Brown commented, “I would like to thank Keyera for their donation to purchase wildland personnel protection equipment (PPE) for our firefighters. These sets of PPE will be a welcome addition to use during wildfires and for grass and brush fires that our firefighters respond to throughout the year. Keyera is not only a key player in the oil and gas industry in Greenview but is also a company that recognizes the risks to our community and does something about it. Kudos to them.“
“The safety and well-being of the communities where we operate are of utmost importance to Keyera. We are honoured to support the Municipal District of Greenview’s Fire-Rescue Services by helping them acquire necessary wildland firefighting gear. This investment is a testament to our commitment to supporting the brave firefighters who risk their lives to protect our communities,” shares Michel Allard, Keyera Area Manager – Wapiti.
