Edson town council was pleased to present the Edson Animal Rescue Society (EARS) with the proceeds from the Mayor’s Golf Tournament Tuesday evening.
Town officials say EARS received a cheque for $21,259 to go towards helping animals in need in the community. This is said to be on top of the $795 dollars raised in the 50-50 draw at the event.
“EARS provides important services to our residents, and we are happy to provide this support through the generosity of those that attended the recent Golf Tournament. Council and the Town of Edson look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with EARS into the future,” said Edson Mayor, Kevin Zahara.
EARS President Jenn Delorme said this will go a long way to helping the group move forward.
Organizers note this was year two of the annual Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament and plans are already underway for next year’s event.
